The best time to visit is during the dry season, from late April to September, when the weather is cooler and more comfortable for travel.

Our campground sites are unpowered but have access to shared ablutions.

Campground sites are open and unnumbered, allowing guests to choose where they set up, whether in a shaded area under a tree or alongside the serene riverbank.

DINING

We offer dining at Pippa’s Corner and Uncle Tony’s Jungle Bar, or guests can cook their own meals at the campground. Please note that we do not provide public BBQs or shared kitchens.

Meals at Pippa’s Corner must be ordered the day prior, while meals at Uncle Tony’s Jungle Bar can be ordered the same day as long as you place your order before 6:30 pm.

We offer gluten-free meal options; however, our kitchen does not have separate cooking stations for gluten vs. non-gluten meals. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that our meals are safe for guests with celiac disease.

ACTIVITIES & TOURS

Guests can enjoy swimming in the river at Barker Pool, explore Annie Creek Gorge, or relax by the pools and waterfalls of Matthew Gorge. There are also wilderness walks to immerse yourself in the natural surroundings.

Our tours offer a variety of activities, from gentle walks to scenic drives. Less strenuous options are available for guests who prefer a more relaxed pace.

Daily activities vary depending on the type, ranging from full-day 4WD tours to shorter 20-minute scenic flights. There are also breaks to allow time for relaxation.

Yes, in our Robinson R44 Helicopters, there is an individual seat limit of 130 kg. Combined passenger weight limits vary depending on the duration of each helicopter experience. Please enquire when booking for more information.
TRAVEL & ACCESS

16. Mount Hart is located within the Wunaamin Conservation Park and is accessible via unsealed roads best suited for 4WD vehicles. The journey includes turning onto Mount Hart Road from the Derby-Gibb River Road, near the Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges Lookout, and continuing approximately 50 km to reach the lodge. For those coming from Broome, it’s a 6-hour drive by 4WD, and charter flights from Broome to Mount Hart can be arranged through our team.
Please be aware that road conditions can fluctuate throughout the year, which may impact access. We are unable to offer vehicle recovery services if you encounter difficulties on the road. Travel is at your own risk, and Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge is not liable for any associated travel costs you may incur. We recommend checking the latest road conditions with Main Roads WA or contacting us to discuss current accessibility.

We operate during the Kimberley dry season, typically from April to October. Please check our website for the latest opening dates.

No, pets are not allowed because Mount Hart is located within a national park where pets are prohibited.
