  • Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre: Drive 5.5 km, the Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre, which offers a glimpse into the rich indigenous culture of the region.

DAY 4 - MOUNT HART WILDERNESS LODGE

DAY 7 - MANNING GORGE CAMPGROUND TO DRYSDALE RIVER STATION (174 kM)

Enjoy a sleep in this morning as you prepare for the next stretch of your adventure.

  • Drysdale River Station: Drive 174 km to Drysdale River Station, where you'll find accommodations to rest and rejuvenate after an action packed first week on the Gibb. This is the last refueling stop for some time, so make sure to stock up on fuel, and enjoy some food and drinks while you relax and reflect on your journey so far.

DAY 8 - DRYSDALE RIVER STATION TO MITCHELL PLATEAU (171 kM)

Rise and shine early in the morning at Drysdale Station as you prepare for a day filled with natural wonders and outdoor adventure.

  • Mitchell Plateau: Hit the road and drive 171 km to Mitchell Plateau. This remote destination promises unforgettable

DAY 10 - EL QUESTRO

CHOOSE YOUR nEXT ADVENTURE: KUNUNURRA (103KM) OR BROOME (1,064 KM)

On your final day of the Gibb River Road journey, you have a choice to make based on your preferences and travel plans.

Option 1 - El Questro to Kununurra (103 km):

  • If you choose to head to Kununurra, it's just a short 103 km drive from El Questro. Kununurra is a vibrant town in the East Kimberley region known for its stunning landscapes and outdoor activities. Here, you can explore the Ord River, visit the famous Lake Argyle, take a scenic flight over the Bungle Bungle Range, and discover the local culture.

Option 2 - El Questro to Broome (1,064 km):

  • Alternatively, you can opt for the longer but scenic route back to Broome as an extention to your trip, covering approximately 1,064 km in total, before factoring in any stops. Unlike the Gibb River Road, this route takes you on the Great Northern Highway, which is bitumen the whole way, passing through awe-inspiring landscapes and offering a chance to continue your Kimberley adventure. Along the way, you can visit places including the world famous Purnululu National Park to see the famous Bungle Bungle Range, the Fitzroy Crossing, Geikie Gorge and the Mimbi Caves before reaching Broome.
