Make your way to Broome, where your tour begins upon transfer to your first magical destination, Cable Beach. After check-in this afternoon, sip on a welcome drink by the pool as you get to know your fellow travellers.
As the sun casts hues of magenta and fiery reds on the Indian Ocean to the west, you’ll set upon the sands of Cable Beach by camelback and follow the shoreline. Surrounded by ranges of dunes and cliffs, Cable Beach’s spectacular sunset views attract visitors from around the world. Memories are meant to be made here.
After the sun finally sinks below the horizon, in all its glory of gold and ruby hues, return to your resort for a delectable dinner at Sunset Bar and Grill.
-
Following breakfast, depart Broome in the comfort of a luxury 4WD tour vehicle, travelling along the Dampier Peninsula. As you journey, take in the contrast of the striking red pindan cliffs against white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters.
Along the way, learn about the local Bardi and Nyul Nyul peoples and their rich traditions. Come to a stop at Beagle Bay for morning tea, where you’ll pay a visit to the Beagle Bay Sacred Heart Church. Built by hand by the local Indigenous community and Pallottine monks in the late 1800s, this spectacular monument is decorated by hundreds of shells including cowrie, volute and olive snail shells, and contains a breathtaking mother-of-pearl altar. An area once used to re-home Indigenous children separated from their families, Beagle Bay is now administered by those same children, now grown.
Continuing northward, arrive at Cygnet Bay, known for its fascinating pearl farm and untouched shores. Following lunch with panoramic views of the crystalline beach, discover the practice of pearl cultivation at the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm – long described as one of the most unique Australian destinations and where some of the world’s largest pearls are grown. After, witness the staggering strength of the tides and surrounding waterfall reefs on a Sea Safari along the coast.
During sunset, sit down for dinner at the Homestead Restaurant where the menu features Indigenous herbs and spices, Asian-inspired dishes and local seafood. You may even have the rare opportunity to try a delicacy unique to the farm – Pinctada maxima pearl meat.
-
This morning, depart Cygnet Bay enjoying breakfast on the run as you’re transferred to the airstrip. Travel from Cygnet Bay to Derby via charter plane, then cross the airstrip to board a seaplane to Horizontal Falls! Take in a bird’s eye view of the Buccaneer Archipelago, a group of more than 1,000 small islands smattered across the tropical Western Australian seas. Touch down smoothly on the water near Horizontal Falls, one of the best known destinations in the area. Here, embark on an enchanting boat journey into the heart of the falls, where tidal currents move through a gorge, creating a fast rapid that turns on its side. Appreciate this natural phenomenon as you glide above the unique waterway, witnessing the sheer power of the untamed Kimberley waters.
Return to the plane to take to the skies on another thrilling journey travelling back to Derby airstrip where your guide will meet you. Make your way out via the world famous Gibb River Road to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge.
Arrive at Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge, an old cattle station in the heart of Wunaamin Conservation Park rich in natural scenery. Unwind with a drink at Uncle Tony’s Jungle Bar during sunset before heading to Pippa’s Corner for an exquisite dinner showcasing Western Australia’s unique flavours.
-
Enjoy breakfast in Pippa’s Corner at Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge. Embark on the Gibb River Road to Bell Gorge (Dalmanyi), where a 1km hike into the spectacular gorge awaits. Marvel as the water cascades over sandstone towers into a large pool, perfect for a refreshing swim.
Enjoy a picnic lunch under the shady trees at Bell Gorge before making the return journey to Mount Hart via the Gibb River Road. On this journey you’ll take in the magnificent scenery via some lookouts along the way.
Enjoy a relaxing afternoon before settling in for a Pizza making competition at Uncle Tonys Jungle Bar.
-
Begin the day airborne during a helicopter flight over the mesmerising Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges (formerly King Leopold Ranges). See remote terrain, accessible only from the air, exploring dramatic waterfalls, sandstone cliffs, water holes and endless boab trees. Learn the secrets of this sacred region’s rich history and unique topography from your expert pilot.
For lunch, fill up with pizza or fish and chips at Uncle Tony’s Jungle Bar before joining a 4WD land safari to Matthew Gorge. Here, you’ll see a collection of rockpools encircled by shadowy rock formations, home to an array of birdlife and the rare small white rock wallaby. Enjoy a refreshing dip before you make your way back to Mount Hart for dinner as your day draws to an end.
-
Set off on a rivetting outback adventure via 4WD this morning along Gibb River Road, taking the cattle track through remote and beautiful landscapes. Catch the morning light casting an ethereal glow as you arrive at Tunnel Creek (Dimalurru). Here, you’ll explore the secrets of the 750-metre cave system, full of hidden chambers and stalactites. Learn the legend of Jandamarra, an Indigenous Australian freedom fighter who used the tunnel as his hideout in the late 1800s. At the end of the tunnel, take a dip in a mystical swimming hole, cooling off before the heat of the day becomes overwhelming.
Next, travel to marvellous Windjana Gorge (Bandilgnan) where you’ll sit down for a gourmet picnic, connecting with the natural wonder surrounding you. Be sure to keep an eye out for the incredible concentration of freshwater crocodiles that live in the area, as well as bats and other wildlife.
Travel along Gibb River Road once more, passing by groves of boab trees and stopping at the Boab Prison Tree, believed to be 1,500 years old. Here, learn of the harsh treatment endured by local Indigenous peoples during colonisation and take a moment to reflect on their solemn history.
Arrive back in Broome in the evening, where you’ll be transferred to post-tour accommodation as you conclude your great Kimberley adventure.
